Public Policy
The California Kidney Care Alliance (formerly California Dialysis Council) has a long history of being a respected and active association in California. Since the inception of the organization in 1982, the CKCA has been the primary voice in the State Legislature advocating on issues impacting the ESRD community.
CKCA is actively engaged in all aspects of California’s public policy process. This includes monitoring all proposed legislation impacting the provision of dialysis and the patients we care for. We write letters supporting and opposing relevant legislation, testify at legislative committee hearings to ensure the voice of the ERSD community is heard in the State Capitol, and provide a dynamic set of educational materials to members of Legislature, their staff, and members of the Administration.
CKCA is also in close and regular communication with the State regulatory agencies, including the Department of Health. Engagement with State departments helps to ensure members are up-to-date on new regulations and helps to assist members with problems relating to licensing or reimbursement.
